Welcome to KATE PEARL - a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and deep personal roots.

At KATE PEARL, we bring the timeless beauty and elegance of Japan’s finest pearls to the UK. Each piece of jewellery is a reflection of nature’s quiet perfection, thoughtfully curated to honour tradition while speaking to modern elegance.

My journey with pearls began long before this brand was born. I was raised by my grandparents in Uwajima, a picturesque town on the island of Shikoku, Japan. A place renowned for producing some of the world’s most exquisite pearls. Thirty-four years ago, my grandparents opened their own pearl shop, and even now, in their seventies, they continue to work every day with extraordinary care and dedication. They don’t use the internet and still follow the most traditional, hands-on methods, which makes their work all the more unique.

Everything you see here is made by my grandparents in Japan, from carefully selecting each pearl to drilling, assembling, and combining them with gold entirely by hand, in their traditional, time-honoured way. I purchase their finished creations and bring them to the UK, where I share them through KATE PEARL - my personal way of continuing their legacy and introducing their remarkable craftsmanship to a wider audience. 

Growing up, I was always surrounded by pearls. Wearing them, learning about them, and witnessing their quiet power and beauty. At the time, I didn’t realise just how rare and special it was. But after moving to the UK at the age of 10, I came to appreciate just how deeply meaningful these pieces are - not just for their beauty, but for the story and heritage they carry. 

KATE PEARL is more than a brand. It’s a bridge between generations, cultures, and places I hold dear. Through these creations, I hope to share a piece of my home, my upbringing, and the love and craftsmanship that shaped me.
